Mort, the big brown dog plays hide and seek.

Mort, the big brown dog, and his mom go for a walk along Adena Road. Here is the entrance.

Mort, the big brown dog, yells back, "Come on mom, lets hurry!"

Mort thinks this is a very nice day for a walk. The shinning sun makes Mort happy.

"Look, mom." Mort says, "There is a man walking away from us, can I chase him? Chasing the man would be fun, indeed."


Mort's mom says no. No to the chasing.

"Look, mom." Mort says, "There is a mommy and her baby in a stroller, can I chase them? Chasing the mommy and baby down the path would be fun, indeed." Mort's mom says no again. No to the chasing. No, no, no.

"Look, mom." Mort says, "There is a man on the roof of that house, can I bark really loud at him? Barking at the man would be fun, indeed." Mort's mom says no again. No to the chasing and no to the barking. No, no, no.

"O, look at the bird bath." Mort's mom thought. "I would like to have that bird bath in my yard. It is a very old and weather worn birdbath. I should steal that birdbath."

But she didn't.

Mort is thirsty, but the creek is dry today. No water for Mort. Mort wants to go home now.

The birdhouse is nice, but Mort wants to go home. Mort is thristy.

Mort sees a pretty white weed along the way. The pretty white weed reminds Mort of milk. Mort wants milk. Milk is better then water. Mort is thirsty for milk.

Mort stops and stares.
He laughs and shake his big brown head at the strange looking seed pod he sees. The seed pod reminds Mort he is thirsty. Mort wants milk!

"Let's take the shortcut." Mort said. He pulls his mom towards the shortcut.

But that didn't happen.

When Mort got home, his mother gave him a big bowl of milk out in the back yard. There were a bunch of black birds on the wires above and they watched Mort lap up his milk. Tasty.


"Can I go to the farm?" Mort ask? "I swear, I'll be a good dog."

Mort's mom took Mort to the farm to let him run. He will not come back to his mom, no matter how many times she says his name. Mort is going to stay at the farm with his grandpa.

Nick the Kid sees Mort in the weeds. Nick the Kid would rather go with Mort's mom.
Mort is spending the night at grandpa's.
